Email alert and FTP upload
If you want to get notified from InstarVision in case of a movement / alarm you have to set the email outbox (SMTP Server) so that InstarVision can sent out Emails.
Please follow this steps to do the necessary settings:
Step 1: Open the menue "Motion" and then open the "Email and FTP Alerts" settings (see red frame below)
Step 2: In the windows that opens please fill in the following data:
Outgoing Mail Server: Here you have to type in the Server of your Email provider. (a list of servers you can find here)
SMTP Port Number: Please check the Port settings with your Email provider
Server Requires Login: for almost 90% of mailservers you have to activate this in order so sign in on the server
User name: Fill in the User name (mostly Email address) of your Email account (Details can be found in the Server list above)
Password: The Password of your Emailaccount
From: Here you have to type in the senders Email address who will sent the Email. (mostly your own email address)
To: Type in the receiver which should receive the alarm email
Subject: You can freely choose which Subject the Email should show when you receive it
Message: Here you can type in a standard message like "ATTENTION... ALARM HAS BEEN REGISTERED!" or similar
Attach Image number: Set how many pictures should be attached to each email
Step 3: Finally please mark "Enable Email Alert" and press "Save and Exit"
Step 1: Fill in your FTP Server in the first box "Ftp Server". Since this Server can be very different according to your provider it is difficult for us to publish a list of FTP Servers. Please check this settings with your provider in order to find out the right server.
If you use a local FTP server (for example a network harddrive or a USB Stick on your Router..) then please fill in the local IP Address of your FTP Server.
Step 2: The FTP Port is almost always 21 and should only be changed if really necessary.
If your server requires a login please activate it and fill in your username and password. As "FTP Directory" you can fill in a subfolder in which you want to save the pictures.
Step 3: For "FTP image as" please choose which type of FTP upload you want to do. With the "Standard" setting you can have InstarVision upload pictures with the date and time in the filename. There will always be a new picture saved.
You can also set it so that one picture gets saved with the same picture name. This picture will be automatically overwritten everytime a new picture gets uploaded. This is exspecially used if you want to show the picture on your website. InstarVision will then automatically refresh the picture in a set time period.
At "FTP Gap (second)" you can set the time in which a new picture should be uploaded
Step 4: Check the box "Enable FTP Alert" and save the settings in order to activate FTP upload.
